Texas Boat & RV Ownership Continue to Rise

The newest trend in both the boating and RV industry – and Texas is no exception - is finding that it’s not just retirees hitting the open road or water.

“Younger families are making boating and RVing a priority because it is a cost-effective and fun way to spend time with family and friends,” says Tiffanie Hoover, Director of the Coastal Bend RV & Boat Expo.

Statistics show that 22% of Texas households participate in recreational boating, and with more than 600,000 registered boats, the Lone Star state ranks sixth in the country for boating activity.
“Texas has more square miles of inland water than any other state. So, it makes perfect sense to spend quality time on the water – whether its fishing, skiing, tubing, or just relaxing,” adds Hoover.

Hoover notes that local RV travel continues to grow in popularity as well with 7.2 million RVs on the nation's roads.
"Today's record RV ownership reflect the enduring appeal of the recreational lifestyle despite recent economic challenges," states Hoover.
